A vehicle crashed into a garage in Lancaster County early Wednesday.

According to a post on the Lafayette Fire Company Facebook page, it happened around 2 a.m. near the Rita’s Italian Ice shop at Lincoln Highway East and Strasburg Pike.

The police department says a vehicle failed to turn off Strasburg Pike, continued straight up an embankment, crossing a parking lot and clipping a parked car, before ending inside the garage.

The occupants of the vehicle were able to get out and were evaluated by EMS.

Crews smelled an odor and found a near-empty propane cylinder in the garage.

The vehicle was removed from the building and the area was cleared of any additional hazards.

There is no word on what caused the crash.
