BUNKERVILLE, Nev. (ABC4 News) A huge hay bale fire lights up the skies over the Bundy Ranch outside Mesquite Wednesday night.

Pictures provided to us from the Beaver Dam/Littlefield fire district shows an inferno after roughly 300 tons of hay ignites and causes a big response from several fire departments in both Arizona and Nevada.

Beaver Dam, Mesquite and Clark County, Nevada all rushed to the scene to help fight the blaze.

No one was hurt and as for the cause, Cliven Bundy himself thinks it may be due in part, to a reaction from some farm equipment.

“As far as we can figure out, it must have started from a spark of a, a grinder. Other than that, we don’t know how it started,” said Bundy.

Bundy likened the hay that burned to a form of gasoline, with its flammability. He says crews have left the scene, but with the hot spots, it may take weeks to fully extinguish the fire.
