SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4 News) – A road rage incident took a turn for the worst when a man was assaulted with a baseball bat in Salt Lake City on Sunday. 

According to an incident report issued by the Salt Lake City Police Department, the victim was being dropped off from a vehicle near 300 East 200 South. The vehicle had stopped in a lane of travel. 

The driver of the vehicle behind them got upset the car was stopped to drop off the victim and got out of his car with a baseball bat and started yelling at the victim.

The suspect swung the bat and struck the victim in the left arm, got back into his vehicle and left, the police report stated.

Police said they have identified who they believe is the suspect and are in the process of locating him. 

The victim did not suffer serious injuries and denied medical attention at the scene.
