A 2-year-old Jacksonville girl was shot in the foot Friday night and an Action News Jax source close to the investigation says the gun that shot the child was found by three children in the home.
Investigators told Action News Jax the child’s twin sister, a 6-year-old boy and three adults were in the house at the time.
The family took the child to the hospital and hospital staff called police a short time later.

This is the second two year old child shot in Jacksonville in 2019.
Action News Jax reached out to the child's family and to JSO.
JSO said the investigation is active and ongoing, and that no known charges have been filed at this time.
According to Action News Jax records, 11 children have now been shot in our area in 2019.
