Crash temporarily closes Seward Highway in both directions south of Anchorage

A two-vehicle collision temporarily closed the Seward Highway near the McHugh Creek area Friday afternoon, according to the Anchorage Police Department.

The crash occurred at Mile 113 of the highway, police said in an alert. The closure lasted for about four hours, with police saying the highway had reopened in both directions by 6:40 p.m.

Police spokesman MJ Thim said Friday afternoon that there are currently no known injuries.

“That’s all the information we have right now,” Thim said.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
