According to a new report from personal finance website WalletHub, Atlanta ranks among the best cities in America to celebrate Easter this year.

For the 2019 ranking, analysts compared the 100 most populated cities in the country across four key dimensions: Easter observers, Easter traditions, kids’ Easter and Easter weather.

The key dimensions were further evaluated using 12 relevant metrics, including share of Christian population, brunch restaurants per capita, number of Easter egg hunts per capita and forecasted precipitations for Easter Sunday.

Of the 100 cities on the list, New York came out on top, followed by Chicago and Los Angeles.

Atlanta ranked 12th on the list. Here’s more on how the city fared:

  • Overall rank: 12
  • Easter observers: 14
  • Easter traditions: 11
  • Kids' Easter: 43
  • Easter weather: 82

According to the Pew Research Center, 76 percent of Atlanta's population identifies as Christian, but the Georgia metro doesn't compare to cities like Birmingham, Alabama or Laredo, Texas, both of which have the highest Christian populations in the country.

But Easter traditions are quite popular around town. You'll find plenty of brunches, Easter service at Stone Mountain Park, the annual Lanier Islands celebration at Margaritaville and the Children's Museum of kid-friendly fest, complete with a scavenger egg hunt and Bunny Hop.

And while the city ranks toward the bottom of the pack for weather, as of Tuesday, April 16, Sunday's forecast looks nice and bright with a high of 74 degrees and a low of 45.
