Miss Capital City Victoria Hill took home her second preliminary award on the second night of Miss Georgia competition.
Hill, a Canton resident, had already taken home a $500 scholarship and trophy for the preliminary talent award Wednesday night. She won the preliminary on-stage question award Thursday night, the only other on-stage preliminary award Miss Georgia contestants are eligible for.

Hill was asked what she would change about the world if she could choose only one thing. She said she would increase the number of certified foster homes that were willing and able to care for foster children.
Another local contestant, Miss Cobb County Alexa Gilomen, won Thursday’s talent preliminary. Gilomen, who has competed on “American Idol,” sang a jazzed-up version of The Cure’s “Love Song,” showcasing her belting voice and control during intricate vocal runs. Gilomen, a Suwanee native, won a talent award for performing the same song last year.

Miss Northwest Georgia’s Outstanding Teen Grace Gebara won the teen on-stage question and eveningwear preliminary award, answering a question about her ability to make animal balloons. The 17-year-old from Roswell donned a royal blue gown with silk bow accents at the waist and spoke warmly about how her balloon animal skills allow her to connect with people.
The teen talent preliminary award was given to Miss Rome’s Outstanding Teen Megan Wright. Wright sang “Astonishing,” a ballad from the musical “Little Women.” The 16-year-old from Calhoun displayed strong vocal control and a beautiful, clear tone.
Friday will be the last night of preliminary competition for Miss Georgia and Miss Georgia’s Outstanding Teen. The scores each contestant receives will determine who makes it into the top 12 and competes on Saturday night in the finals.
