Piedmont Healthcare will soon offer a new medical facility for the underserved Fairview community of Henry County, a commissioner who brokered the deal says.
Piedmont Henry Primary Care will be part of the Fairview Urgent Care and will not only serve Henry, but also nearby communities in Rockdale, Clayton and DeKalb counties, said Henry Commissioner Bruce Holmes, whose district includes Fairview.
“After seeing my next-door neighbor pass in front of my eyes a few years ago, I immediately became aware of the lack of access to emergent and other specialty healthcare services in north Henry County, and at that time, Piedmont was in the process of taking over Henry Hospital,” Holmes said in a statement.
“Since that time, they’ve been an extraordinary partner and supporter and have been outstanding in providing great healthcare to Henry County citizens and the surrounding areas,” he said.
The Fairview office will open June 1 and be headed by internal medicine specialists Drs. Prathima Reddy and Thiruvannathapur Krishnamoorthy.
“We are excited to open a primary care office in the Fairview section of Ellenwood,” said Dr. Lily Henson, CEO of Piedmont Henry Hospital. “It is a rapidly growing community. Providing better access to primary care allows us to deliver on Piedmont’s purpose, which is to make a positive difference in every life we touch.”
The new medical office is at 4477 West Village Parkway in Ellenwood.
