Alabama puts 6 on Sporting News All-American team, 3 now consensus picks

Alabama vs. Arkansas State football

Tua Tagovailoa makes a pass during the Arkansas State game.

Alabama had six on the Sporting News All-American team, adding another to the consensus list with two closing in on unanimous status.

Receiver Jerry Jeudy’s inclusion on the first team gives him three of the four official All-American honors to make him a consensus pick. Jonah Williams and Quinnen Williams are 4-for-4 while Tua Tagovailoa made his second list along with the Walter Camp team.

Center Ross Pierschbacher picked up his initial first-team selection on the Sporting News list. Deionte Thompson got his second first-team pick as well.

Only the American Football Coaches Association remains among the five official All-American teams recognized by the NCAA. Three of five makes a player consensus.
