Jalen Hurts didn’t take long to make friends in Norman, Oklahoma.
The former Alabama quarterback, who transferred to Oklahoma, appears to have already won over the Sooners locker room.
Bennie Wylie, the director of sports performance at Oklahoma, posted a video of the graduate transfer’s power clean in the weight room to rowdy approval of his new teammates.
Hurts, who entered the NCAA transfer portal last month, has one year of eligibility remaining and will be immediately eligible to play for the Sooners as a graduate transfer.
The quarterback wasn’t done. He added some squats to his day as well. More than 500 pounds isn’t too shabby for a quarterback.
Hurts’ decision came down to Oklahoma, Maryland and Miami, the three schools he visited in January.
As the Tide’s backup quarterback this season, Hurts was 51 of 70 for 765 yards with eight touchdown passes while also running for 167 yards and two scores, including his game-winning touchdown run against Georgia in the SEC championship game.
