Alabama is in the exact same position it was at the conclusion of last season.

The Crimson Tide is ranked No. 2.

Alabama was slotted behind Clemson in the first Associated Press poll of 2019 and ranked ahead of Georgia, Oklahoma and Ohio State, who were No. 3, 4 and 5 respectively. The Tide is among four SEC teams ranked in the top ten.

It’s the first year the Tide didn’t top the preseason AP poll since 2015, when it began the year at No. 3.

Ever since then, Clemson and Alabama have battled for college football supremacy. And it looks like they will continue to do so this season.
