Alabama commit Quandarrius Robinson had a game-saving sack, 10 tackles and two deflections to help Jackson-Olin earn a 26-24 win Friday night over Fairfield.
The game was a back-and-forth affair that wasn’t decided until Robinson’s sack of Fairfield quarterback Omar Young on a third-and-10 play with just over a minute to play.
Jackson-Olin jumped out to an early 6-0 lead on a one-yard touchdown run from Jacoarion Wrenn, but Fairfield went ahead 8-6 at halftime off a 65-yard interception return from Travis Pearson.
The second half included scores for Jackson-Olin from Jabari Toellnitp and brothers Kizer and Kason Jones, while Young and Marquel Holmes scored for Fairfield.
Kason Jones’ 3-yard touchdown run with 1:07 to go set up the game-winning play on Robinson’s sack on the ensuing drive as time wound down.
Stat sheet: Young had eight rushes for 52 yards and one touchdown while also completing 10 of 23 passes for 151 yards for Fairfield. ... Kason Jones finished with 21 carries for 134 yards and one touchdown for Jackson-Olin.
