They're lifelike exhibits, many of which can move, roar or walk. To ease the fear factor, organizers for the show also promise a petting zoo with baby dinos, a fossil dig, inflatables, crafts and science stations. It's all happening today through Sunday.

Eleven bands are scheduled at the free event, including the Kentucky Headhunters, Georgia Thunderbolts, Casey Thrasher and Channing Wilson. Food, children's activities and fireworks are on the agenda, as well, noon to 10 p.m. at Holiday Raceway.

SPECIAL EVENTS
Shiver with anticipation. The Rocky Horror Masquerade Ball is just a few days away, and if history holds true, fans of "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" will come out in force, and in costume. The annual extravaganza, which includes a screening of the cult classic and two costume contests, is set for Oct. 18 at the Alabama Theatre. Doors open at 6 p.m. "Rocky"-themed cosplay will be evident, of course, but revelers tend to deck out in spooky regalia of all types. Don't dream it; be it!
Rocky Horror Masquerade Ball, Oct. 18 at 6:30 p.m., Alabama Theatre, 1817 Third Ave. North, $23 advance, $25 day of show.
