Police asking public’s help in identifying Birmingham package store robbers

The Birmingham Police Department is asking the public’s help in identifying suspects who robbed a package store Wednesday in southwest Birmingham.

The robbery occurred around 10:07 p.m. Wednesday at the M&N Package Store at 2330 Pearson Ave., police said. After two suspects in masks approached the store an unmasked suspect acted as a lookout near the door as the masked suspects brandished a gun at the clerk. A masked suspect then forced the clerk to the register and began taking money out of it. The suspects then fled the package store with the cash.

While watching surveillance footage, detectives with the robbery unit noticed two unmasked people -- who were not believed to be with the other suspects -- start grabbing items from the store once they realized the business was being robbed. Investigators would like to identify these subjects, police said.

Anyone with information on the suspects’ identities was asked to call robbery detectives at 205-254-1753. Anyone who wants to remain anonymous was urged to call Crime Stoppers at 205-254-7777. If a tip to Crime Stoppers leads to an arrest, Crime Stoppers will provide a cash reward.
