Scattered rain and storms continued across Alabama on Tuesday afternoon, and more are in the forecast for the next two days.
And the risk of strong storms has ticked upward for Wednesday.
The Storm Prediction Center has added a slight risk for part of north and central Alabama for Wednesday.
A slight risk means scattered severe storms will be possible.
Some of the cities in the slight risk area are Huntsville, Florence, Decatur, Hamilton, Cullman and Athens.
An area to the south and the east will have a marginal risk, which means isolated storms will be possible.
Hail and damaging winds are the main hazards on Wednesday, according to the Storm Prediction Center.
The strongest storms are expected to develop Wednesday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service, and could last through the overnight hours.
More strong to severe storms will be possible on Thursday as well. The Storm Prediction Center has a good part of Alabama in a marginal risk Thursday:
The weather service said damaging winds and hail — and it could be large hail — will again be the main concerns on Thursday.
