Second arrest made in death of George Leverette

Khristian Gibbs was arrested Wednesday after a search warrant was executed at his home, Mobile County Sheriff Office

Mobile County Sheriff’s Office investigators arrested another suspect in the death of George Leverette. The suspect named in connection to the homicide is Khristian Gibbs, who was arrested after a search warrant was issued out and executed at his home.

George Leverette was shot and killed on Indian Springs Drive on July 29. Dougasian McGrew, 25, was arrested shortly after. McGrew was arrested after deputies executed a search warrant on him in Knollwood Apartments. McGrew was charged with murder, use/possession of drug paraphernalia and marijuana and several forged instrument charges. Gibbs’ arrest is the second arrest to be made in the death of Leverette.

MSCO’s Lori Myles stated that the investigation is still ongoing. She also said that the motive behind the slaying is believed to be drug related and that more arrests may be made in relation to the case.

Gibbs has no prior criminal history.
