The second suspect sought in an east Jefferson County shooting that killed a husband and seriously injured his wife Thursday night has been identified.
Zachary Durante Danner, 22, was named as the suspect in the Grayson Valley shooting around 11:30 p.m. Thursday. He still remains at large as of Friday night.
Danner was described as a 5-foot 7-inch tall black male weighing 180 pounds. Anyone with information on Danner’s whereabouts was asked to contact Crime Stoppers of Metro Alabama at 205-254-7777.
Michael James Moore, 35, was pronounced dead on the scene at a house on the 5400 block of Nottingham Drive at 12:10 a.m. Friday, according to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office. He lived at the home.
The second victim - his wife - was taken to the hospital. Jefferson County sheriff’s Sgt. James Perry said she is in critical but stable condition.
The incident began when two men went to the couple’s home, interested in dating their niece and another woman. Perry said the men, however, were rejected and that’s when the gunfire erupted. "It wasn’t a home invasion because they were invited in,'' Perry said.
Another suspect was captured; they were not publicly identified:
