The number of coronavirus cases in Alabama has topped 17,000.

The Alabama Department of Public Health’s May 30 9 a.m. numbers show 17,031 coronavirus cases in the state, an increase of 477 from the previous day. The counties with the biggest increases were Montgomery (+49); Tuscaloosa (+40); Walker (+30); and Jefferson and Mobile, which each added 29 cases.

Alabama has had 610 COVID-19 deaths, up 5 from yesterday. The counties with the greatest number of deaths are Mobile (114); Jefferson (102); Tallapoosa (64); Montgomery (38); and Lee (32).
