Four counties accounted for 45% of Alabama’s new coronavirus cases from yesterday.
The Alabama Department of Public Health’s May 29, 9:30 a.m. numbers show 16,554 COVID cases, up 522 from yesterday. Four of Alabama’s 67 counties accounted for almost half the increase – Montgomery (+95); Mobile (+48); Tuscaloosa (+48); and Jefferson (+42).
Alabama has 605 COVID deaths, up 22 from yesterday. Hospitalizations rose by 40.
The state has tested 206,757 people with 71,685 of those in the last 14 days.
ADPH listed 9,355 ‘presumed recoveries’ from the virus.
