After two days of higher numbers due to data issues, the number of new coronavirus cases in Alabama dropped to just over 500.

The Alabama Department of Public Health’s Aug. 11 10 a.m. numbers shows 99,926 cases in the state, an increase of 536 from the previous day. The number of deaths rose by 48, bringing the state’s total since March to 1,781.

Yesterday, ADPH confirmed that older data entered into the system bumped up single-day numbers in Mobile and Montgomery counties with significantly higher-than-average numbers in other places as well.

Over the last 7 days, Alabama has averaged 1,291 cases per day; the 14-day average is 1,401.
