Authorities are searching for a suspect in a Monday-morning shooting in Walker County.
The shooting happened about 10:15 a.m. on Seventh Avenue in Sipsey, according to Walker County sheriff’s spokesman T. J. Armstrong. Details are still sketchy, but authorities said the victim’s injuries aren’t believed to be life-threatening. The bullet went through one of his legs and struck his other leg.
Sheriff’s officials identified the suspect as 34-year-old Jemayel Scott. His last known address was in Birmingham. Armstrong said he should be considered armed and dangerous.
Scott may be driving a red Ford Focus, a red Chevy Impala or some other make and model of a red sedan. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 205-302-6464.
