A 38-year-old Birmingham man has been charged in the weekend killings of a Jefferson County couple.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office charged Terrence Jermaine Holder with capital murder in the deaths of Kristy Lynn Pickett, 26, and Tommy Ervin Shyrie, 58.

Deputies were dispatched late Friday to the couples’ home in the 3500 block of Bethel Road in Warrior after concerned family members requested a welfare check, said sheriff’s Capt. David Agee. Once at the location, deputies made entry into the home and found the victims dead.

Bethel Road Homicide

A couple was found dead early Saturday, June 15, 2019, inside their Bethel Road home.

The couple was pronounced dead at 12:43 a.m. Saturday. Both had been fatally shot.

Agee said Holder was a casual acquaintance of the victims. A motive has not been released, and additional evidence remains under review.

Holder is being held in the Jefferson County Jail without bond.
