Pruitt said the suspect fired shots into the air but did not shoot at his girlfriend or at police. No one was injured.

South Roebuck Domestic Incident

A domestic violence victim, who was not injured, ran to this home for help Monday afternoon when her boyfriend was chasing her with a gun.

The suspect was taken into custody at his home, which is about two houses away from where the victim sought. He was handcuffed and placed into a police cruiser for transport to the Birmingham City Jail.

At least one family member of the normally-quiet neighborhood was visibly angry, saying he has been complaining to police about unsavory activity at the home where the suspect lives.
