Man accused of killing Moundville mother, daughter faces charges after suicide attempt

Authorities say a west Alabama man will face capital charges in the killings of a Moundville woman and daughter.

Police say 37-year-old Paige Mitchell and 13-year-old Kaci Mitchell were found dead in their home on Thursday after other children in the house called police.

Officers then went to another house where they heard a gunshot and found 36-year-old Bradley Gray suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

District Attorney Michael Jackson describes Gray as Paige Mitchell's former boyfriend. He says both the woman and her daughter were shot to death.

Gray is hospitalized in life-threatening condition following the gunshot, but Jackson says the man will be charged with capital murder in the slayings if he survives.

Jackson says Gray was convicted of harassing Paige Mitchell in 2015.
