Adopt-A-School partner makes donation to Fargo school

On Wednesday, representatives from Heat Transfer Warehouse, McKinley Elementary School’s Adopt-a-School Partner, will present sweatshirts and backpacks to all staff and students. The distribution will be followed by a group photo of everyone wearing the sweatshirts in the gymnasium.

Heat Transfer Warehouse is committed to ensuring McKinley Elementary students have something warm to wear each year. This is the fifth year in a row the partner has made the delivery of coats or sweatshirts. Heat Transfer Warehouse and its employees are partners in the Adopt-A-School program, which pairs a Fargo Public School with a local business. The business provides volunteers to serve at the school in the manner deemed most needed/appropriate by the school administration, which varies from school to school. The community service volunteers often serve as readers, lunch time buddies, homework support, school event workers, or office helpers.

The Fargo Public Schools Development Foundation oversees the Fargo Public Schools Adopt-A-School program, and 21 schools and programs have assigned business partners. The program has been in operation since 2001.
