  • Six trucks with illegal coal consignment seized by Darrang Police of Assam

    Mangaldai  : In a successful operation against the illegal coal transporters Darrang Police on Saturday night seized six coal laden multi axled trucks allegedly moving without legal documents from Tinchukia towards other states including UP, Bihar and Hariyana. Acting on some secret information, a police team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police (HQ), Darrang Mamoni Hazarika intercepted several trucks carrying coal on NH-15 in Dalgaon and seized six trucks, five registered in UP with nos. UP 42 BT 4222, UP 42 BT 2811, UP 42 BT 4552, UP 15 DT 7764, UP 15 DT 8168 and other in Haryana with no HR 37 D 7896 on charges of illegal transportation of coal. The police till filing of this has not made any official statement before media but sources said that investigation in this regard is going on. Mention may be made here that normally these coal laden trucks used to move via Koliabor, Jorabat, Guwahati route, however very recently a section of such trucks have been carrying coal through the Tezpur Mangaldai route.
