The South Dakota Department of Health has reported 90 new cases of COVID-19 in the state, according to data released Sunday morning.

The state has now had a total of 8,395 cases of COVID-19, with 908 cases still active.

There have been 7,364 recoveries from the disease, and a total of 48 people are currently hospitalized with COVID-19, a slight increase from Saturday (46).

One new death was reported on Sunday. COVID-19 has killed 123 people in South Dakota.

There were 2,423 people tested for a positive rate of 4.3%.

Minnehaha County added 35 cases, for a total of 4,018. Pennington County added four cases, for a total of 778 cases. Beadle County added a total of two cases, for a total of 582. Lincoln County added 14 cases for a total of 481.

COVID-19 patients are occupying 2% of the state's staffed hospital beds, and 52% of those beds remain available, according to the department. COVID-19 patients are occupying 4% of intensive care unit beds, with 35% of them remaining available. Five percent of the state's ventilators are being used to care for COVID-19 patients, with 78% of the state's capacity still available.
