Sioux Falls has a new half-marathon, and it's designed to come with some surprises.

The Sioux Falls Skedaddle will take place April 28.

The race, a joint event between 605 Running Company in Sioux Falls and Nebraska-based Pink Gorilla Events, is meant to elevate Sioux Falls as a spring destination for runners, families and friends.

The event will include brunch, entertainment zones and organized cheer stations. 'Fun surprises' are promised for participants both during training season and during the race.

The as-yet-to-be-determined race route will be a scenic course that features Sioux Falls landmark, take advantage of the city's parks and trail system and start and finish downtown.

“We are thrilled to give our running community a race they can be excited about this spring. Sioux Falls hasn’t seen anything like the Skedaddle. Teaming up with Pink Gorilla Events allows us to really take it to the next level," said Greg Koch, co-owner of 605 Running Company, in a news release. "We’ve participated in their other events like the Good Life Halfsy and we can’t wait to have that energy and level of production in our own backyard."

Pink Gorilla Events produces the Market to Market Relay Series in Nebraska and Iowa and the 6,500-participant Good Life Halfsy in Lincoln, Nebraska, as well as several other races.

“Sioux Falls is an amazing community and creating a big spring half marathon here is something we are really excited about," said Zach Harsin, co-owner of Pink Gorilla Events, in the news release. "We’re pulling out all the stops to give runners a race with a fresh and fun spin on almost everything."

The race brand was developed in partnership with Sioux Falls marketing technology agency Click Rain.

Registration for the race opens to the public on Jan 1 at 10 a.m. The prices start at $74. More information is available at www.skedaddlerun.com.
