Sioux Falls bars offer specials, watch parties for SDSU-NDSU playoff battle

A big-time playoff game means there's a number of watch parties and food and drink specials at local establishments.

Several Sioux Falls-area restaurants and bars are getting into the playoff spirit for the Friday football showdown between the South Dakota State University Jackrabbits and the North Dakota State University Bison.

Sure, you could watch the game on ESPN2 or travel north to Fargo to see it live. But why do that when you could watch with a discounted drink or food special surrounded by friends and fellow fans? Also, alumni associations from both universities have listed local watch parties for their respective teams.

Blue 42 Sports Grill

Location: 1021 Diamond Circle, Hartford

Specials: Wear SDSU gear and your first beer is free. Also, $3 tall taps, $2 bottles, $4 Chuck Norris and $2 Fireball shots

Urban Chislic

Specials: Two-for-ones on all tap beer

Hy-Vee (Marion Road)

Location: 1900 S. Marion Rd., Sioux Falls

Specials: The grocery store will play the game over the intercom and it'll be displayed all over the Market Grille restaurant. Half-price appetizers and tap beers and unlimited wings and fries for $12. 

Will's Training Table

Location: 4021 N. Bobhalla Dr., Sioux Falls
