Taco Town Buffet is set to open Aug. 24 in the old Cowboy Chicken space on 41st Street.

The newest addition to Sioux Falls' busy 41st street commercial corridor will be a taco buffet-style restaurant.

The owners of Taco Town Buffet hope to add a unique dining experience in a remodeled storefront at 2700 W 41st St., the former Cowboy Chicken space.

Workers are putting finishing touches on the interior as the city's newest taco place prepares to open Aug. 24 at 5 p.m.

Customers will pay a set price for a drink and all-you-can-eat tacos, with a selection of meats and toppings from the restaurant's hot and cold buffets, said Pegah Diznab, the Sioux Falls resident who co-owns and operates the business with her family.

"It's always been a passion," Diznab said. "It's really exciting to have our own little place."

Diznab, her husband Afshin Sadri, and Diznab's parents will run Taco Town Buffet when it opens later this month. The four have a combined 25 years of experience in the food service industry, and founded the Hunny & Bunny food truck.

They sold the food truck in 2015, and Taco Town Buffet is their brick-and-mortar restaurant.

The concept of a buffet seemed like a way to differentiate Taco Town from other restaurants in town, and it also allows the business to meet a diverse range of dietary preferences, with options for everyone from vegetarians to children, Diznab said.
