Michael Cooper, 57, is wanted on charges of distribution of a controlled substance resulting in serious bodily injury.

A Sioux Falls man accused of dealing fentanyl was arrested hours after authorities issued a plea for information regarding his whereabouts.

Michael Wayne Cooper, 57, was arrested at a southwest Sioux Falls apartment on Monday afternoon, the U.S. Marshals said in a statement.

Cooper was arrested without incident and is being held in the Minnehaha County Jail, awaiting his initial appearance in federal court.

U.S. Attorney Ron Parsons said Cooper was indicted on Nov. 6 by a federal grand jury on charges of distribution of a controlled substance resulting in serious bodily injury.

Cooper was indicted along with 43-year-old Sioux Falls resident Darcy Ranee Hoff. Both are alleged to have dealt fentanyl that caused a person in Sioux Falls to overdose.
