An Iowa man wanted for his involvement in a high-speed chase there was found by Minnesota authorities in Sioux Falls Tuesday morning.

Joshua Michael Weisser, 27, was arrested by the Twin Cities Apprehension Team in the 1000 block of West 21st Street Tuesday morning after leading officers on a four-block foot chase, according to a release from the Minnesota fugitive apprehension group.

Joshua Michael Weisser, 27, was wanted out of Dickinson County, Iowa, for leading law enforcement there on a high-speed chase in heavy traffic. He was arrested in Sioux Falls Tuesday morning.

Weisser has been wanted out of Dickinson County, Iowa, since May of this year after leading Iowa law enforcement on a chase with his motorcycle through heavy traffic in the Spirit Lake, Iowa, area. Speeds of over 100 mph, according to the release.

The Twin Cities Apprehension Team (TCAT) was tapped to help apprehend Weisser on Nov. 21. The agency typically focuses on violent offenders.

"We were contacted by the (Iowa bondsmen) to resolve this issue given the length of time it had been outstanding," said TCAT lead investigator Stewart Peters. "It is not typical for out-of-state bail bond companies to contact our office, but we were happy to resolve the matter."

Sioux Falls police were notified around 9 a.m. that this task force would be in the area looking for Weisser, but they did not assist with the arrest.

On Nov. 26, the Minnesota agents came to Sioux Falls to investigate, according to the release. The release did not say why Weisser was in Sioux Falls.

A TCAT investigator saw Weisser in the 1000 block of West 21st Street around 8 a.m., but he left in a vehicle. Weisser later returned, and when agents attempted to contact him, he ran about four blocks and tried to hide in the basement of a home, according to the release.

Weisser was eventually taken into custody without incident.

Weisser is in custody at the Dickinson County, Iowa, jail.
