A Sioux Falls woman was sentenced to federal prison after she pleaded guilty to conspiring to distribute pounds of methamphetamine in the Sioux Falls area.

Dixie Leigh Murphy, 42, was sentenced to just over 10 years in federal prison and five years of supervised release by U.S. District Judge Karen E. Schreier, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office. She must also pay $100 to the Federal Crime Victims Fund.

Murphy had received several pounds of methamphetamine from co-conspirators that she distributed in Sioux Falls, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office. The Sioux Falls Area Drug Task Force and the Drug Enforcement Administration investigated the case.

Murphy was indicted on a count of Conspiracy to Distribute a Controlled Substance by a federal grand jury on Nov. 6, 2018. She pleaded guilty in April.
