Sioux Falls police are searching for a 45-year-old woman they say has not been seen since Wednesday.

Angela Armstrong has been missing since about midnight that night, police said. She was driving a 2017 Chevy Traverse, very dark gray in color with a South Dakota license plate 44ZW44.

As of Friday morning, police spokesman Sam Clemens said he does not know whether there's anything suspicious about the situation at this point. Officers have received several tips since Wednesday, but have not managed to find her yet, he said.

A relative called police and reported her missing, he said.

"She basically left, and that's unusual behavior for her," Clemens said. "She doesn't just do that, so there was some concerns."

Initially, the report was made to just try and find her and make sure she was OK, Clemens said. Then detectives reached out to him yesterday and asked for the public's help.

If you see Armstrong or her car, please call 911.

"We just want to find her and make sure she's OK," Clemens said. "The bigger thing is it's very unusual for this type of behavior. There are some people who kind of maybe need a break from others,  but she wasn't one of them. She kept in contact, but they haven't heard from her."
