Police are searching for a man who robbed a gas station in east-central Sioux Falls on Sunday night.

Police responded to a report of a robbery at the Shop-n-Cart around 9:45 p.m. Sunday on the corner of Sixth Street and Cleveland Avenue, police spokesman Sam Clemens said. The suspect took beer and a pack of cigarettes from the store before being confronted by an employee outside the building, Clemens said.

The suspect threatened the employee with a gun and left the scene, Clemens said. The employee then reported the incident to police.

Police plan to look at surveillance video recorded from inside the gas station to identify the suspect, Clemens said.
