Sioux Falls weather: Another round of snow expected this weekend

A band of snow is moving through South Dakota this weekend, and it'll hit Sioux Falls Saturday night.

Between two and four inches of snow will fall throughout Saturday night and into Sunday morning, according to Brad Adams, observing program leader with the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls.

With winds below 20 mph, the snow will be a little easier to handle, Adams said. The snow will likely begin falling after 7 p.m. Saturday.

"I think people have had enough of winter," Adams said. "Unfortunately, it's not over yet. Nonetheless, not having the wind certainly helps."

Roads will be covered with snow by Saturday evening though and can still make it a "bit treacherous to drive," Adams said.

Areas past Mitchell could see heavier snow between five and seven inches, he said. The snow will round up before 1 p.m. Sunday.

After the snow, temperatures are looking up for the coming week. Wednesday and Thursday have highs predicted in the 20s.
