First phase of stunning new Armagh development to go on market this Friday

Larchfield Deanery Demesne Armagh

The first release of the initial phase of a stunning multi-million pound Armagh housing development is to go on the market later this week.

Thirteen new homes in the highly-anticipated Deanery Demesne development – just off the Portadown Road – will be offered up on “first come, first serve” basis this Friday morning.

And with initial interest well in excess of 230 people, the estate agent tasked with controlling the demand is expecting the properties to fly off the shelf.

Alastair Glass, managing director of Hannath Estate Agents, says the initial interest has been phenomenal.

Short of queuing up and camping overnight outside their Portadown HQ, Mr Glass believes the first come, first serve basis is the fairest way to sell the sought-after homes, which start at £139,950.

Speaking to Armagh I, Mr Glass, said: “Since we released the marketing information a few months ago the interest has been fantastic.

“It has allowed people a period to examine the plans and get their ducks in order so to speak.

“The initial response has been very positive but the properties speak for themselves. The images will be a true likeness of what will be developed here.”

Mr Glass said Hannath will be opening their doors a little earlier than usual on Friday morning – at 8.30am, due to the release date.

And in terms with dealing with the high demand, the experienced estate agent says it’s as simple as the first person in line will get the house they want.

And from 9am, Hannath will be taking bookings as per normal, but Mr Glass says that first 30 minutes will be crucial to securing a house in the first release of phase one.

“Demand and feedback has been excellent. People are dying to get in on it now because inevitably prices go up after first release,” he said.

The first stage of the 350-home development consists of a total of 55 homes – 50 semi-detached and five detached.

It will sit south of the old railway line – and adjacent to the potential new £30 million Armagh Leisure Village.

Work on the link road at Mullinure Lane is almost complete.
