Kentucky is trying to flip more Louisville commits

The University of Louisville football program has three commits remaining in the 2019 class and Vince Marrow is trying to steal a couple more.

The Big Dog was back in Louisville Thursday morning to see three-star Dupont Manual running back Aidan Robbins. Robbins has been committed to Louisville since June of this year, but his father seemed pretty happy to see the Big Dog come to town.

Upon Bobby Petrino’s firing and Louisville’s horrendous attempt at playing football this season, Robbins has seemed less than 100% committed to the Cards over the last few weeks.

He’s taken official visits to Colorado State and BYU the last two weekends, as well as having an in-home with Ole Miss last week. And it sounds like one of those schools has caught his attention.

“My official visit to BYU was amazing. Definitely the best official visit I’ve had thus far...It was definitely somewhere I would like to spend the next point in my life,” Robbins told 247Sports’ Mitch Harper.

Robbins will officially visit Louisville this weekend, but experts have already begun flipping their crystal ball picks to the BYU Cougars. With all the uncertainty surrounding Robbins’ commitment to the Cards, it looks like Kentucky is making one last push to steal the Louisville native.

But Robbins isn’t the only recruit the Cats are trying to pry away from the Cards. Three-star offensive tackle Zach Williamson out of Huntington, West Virginia took an official visit to Kentucky this past weekend.

The 6-6, 275-pound Louisville commit was offered by Kentucky the Monday after UK demolished UL 56-10 at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium.

To be fair, this is a bit of speculation as neither player has given any indication that they plan on decommitting. But if they both did decommit, that would leave Louisville with one (!) player left in the 2019 class.

But hey, good luck to Louisville’s new head coach, Scott Satterfield! I’m sure he doesn’t regret pulling the scholarships of four three-star players in the last week (two of whom are from the state of Kentucky).

Kentucky has limited spaces remaining in their class for next year, but it’d be totally worth it to steal the last bit of dignity the Louisville football program has left.
