Where Kentucky targets stand in Rivals’ updated 2021 rankings

The Kentucky Wildcats finished off the 2020 recruiting class by bringing in the top class in the country headlined by BJ Boston (No. 4) and Terrence Clarke (No. 7) making Kentucky the only blue blood program getting multiple top 10 recruits.

Looking ahead to the 2021 class, John Calipari and his staff have already been busy recruiting the class looking to bring in yet another No. 1 class.

On Tuesday, Rivals released their updated rankings for the 2021 class and Kentucky has already offered and are recruiting multiple players ranked in the top 10.

Here is where the current Kentucky targets are ranked after the update.

Jonathan Kuminga headlines the class as the No. 1 overall player, but there are still rumors that he could reclassify to play college ball in 2020 or be on his way to the G-League.

Patrick Baldwin Jr is right behind him at No. 2 and while Kentucky has already offered him a scholarship, many view Duke as the current favorite to land him.

Paolo Banchero came in at No. 3. He has been rumored to be a reclass option, but he always remained adamant that he was staying in 2021. Kentucky currently holds 100% of the Rivals’ FutureCast predictions to land Banchero.

Jaden Hardy is now the No. 5 overall player in the class. Kentucky is viewed as the heavy favorite to land the 6-4 combo guard.

Kennedy Chandler came in at No. 10. Many have believed that Tennessee is the favorite, but Chandler recently announced he is leaving Briarcrest in Memphis to play at Sunrise Christian in Kansas. Him being further away from UT will only help Kentucky chances in this recruitment.

As always, Kentucky is in the mix for multiple top-10 guys and it will be interesting to follow all these recruitments going forward to see how Kentucky shapes up in them and to see if Kuminga stays in 2021 or makes the jump to 2020 for either college or the G-League.
