Halloween isn’t just for kids. The weekend before All Hallow’s Eve offers several treats for those over 18.

Things kick off at Pexcho’s American Dime Museum with a favorite – “The Rocky Horror Picture Show.”

“I’ve always loved ‘Rocky Horror,’” said Peter Excho, museum owner. “I’d planned on showing the movie.”

Excho brought in the Misfit Theatre Group, a local theater company performing interactive cult classics, to do “Sweeney Todd” a few months ago, and discovered the group does an interactive “Rocky Horror” show.

The group will be doing three performances in the museum’s 60-seat theater. Shows will be at 9 p.m. and midnight Oct. 25, and at 9 p.m. Oct. 26. Patrons are encouraged to pull out their fishnets and dress up, but leave the rice, toast, toilet paper and water guns at home. Props will be available at the show.

Tickets are $25 for VIP seats and $20 for general admission. Only those 18 years old and older are admitted. For more information, visit facebook.com/americandimemuseum.

On Oct. 26, Coco Rubio is bringing back a Halloween tradition he started a couple of weeks after opening the Soul Bar 24 years ago – Disco Hell-O-Ween – as part of the Thriller at the Miller night.

Doors will open at 9 p.m. at the Miller Theater, and there will be two different choices for party goers. Head into the main theater and listen to the sounds of the band, Funk You, or climb a flight of stairs to the Knox Music Institute with DJ Coco and the room complete with a disco ball.

There’ll be a costume contest, and Rubio, the Miller Theater’s operations manager, said it should be a lot of fun.

He said he hopes to draw crowds from other downtown events that night to round out the evening.

The Thriller at the Miller begins at 9 p.m., and there will be a $10 cover charge. This event is also only for 18 and older. For more information, visit millertheateraugusta.com.

Another downtown event just a couple of blocks over will be the 12th annual Black Cat Carnival, which begins at 8 p.m. Oct. 26. Events will take place at Le Chat Noir and on parts of Eighth and Ellis Streets that will be blocked off.

Krys Bailey, Le Chat’s executive director, said the event has grown over the years and outgrown the black box theater and lounge space.

“Last year we had about 500 to 600 folks over the course of the night,” he said.

By moving parts of it outdoors, it opens it up to include other acts such as the Arcane Arts fire and flow performers.

There will be lots of games and adults-only fun. Bailey said some of the games can be bawdy.

Entertainment on the night will include two performances by Toybox, America’s Favorite Cartoon Witch, and the Black Cat Side Show.

Admission is free, but tickets will get you access to the performances and games. Tickets are $1 each. Anyone attending is encouraged to wear a costume.

There are a few VIP or VIC (Very Important Clown) tickets available for $35.
