No bond was set in Magistrate Court on Monday for a woman accused of stabbing her husband.

Shirleta Davis, 46, was charged with aggravated assault (family violence) and two counts of cruelty to children in the third degree Friday. Bond needs to be set in Superior Court because of the nature of the case.

According to the incident report, Richmond County sheriff's deputies were called to a residence on the 1000 block of Peters Road at 2:21 a.m. Friday in reference to unknown situation concerning a male vomiting, which changed to a subject hemorrhaging. When the deputy arrived, one of Davis' children told the deputy to follow him inside the residence.

Davis then cracked the front door and told the deputy she was having a miscarriage but was driving herself to the hospital, according to the report. Davis said she didn't need assistance, so the deputy cancelled an EMS call.

While the deputy waited outside to make sure Davis could drive herself, he noticed she was turning off lights in the house but never left. When the deputy knocked to see whether Davis was OK, she said she was putting on her shoes and refused to allow the deputy in.

After some time had passed and Davis had not left, the deputy knocked again. Davis' son answered and asked the deputy to help his father, who was bleeding from a chest wound upstairs. He told the deputy that Davis had run out the back door.

The deputy went to the back and found Davis, her clothes and hands covered in blood. Davis said her husband was attacked by an unknown male inside their home after a drug deal had gone wrong, according to the report.

The deputy found Davis' husband on the bathroom floor covered in blood from a stab wound to his chest, and Davis' other son was applying pressure to the wound. The man was taken to AU Medical Center.

According to the report, one of the children told deputies that Davis stabbed his father. Deputies found a broken plate they suspect was used in the stabbing.

Davis is being held at the Charles B. Webster Detention Center.
