An Augusta man was granted bond at his initial appearance Monday on child molestation charge.

According to the warrant, Tate molested an 11-year-old boy on May 23 on the 2000 block of Hephzibah-McBean Road. Tate is believed to be the boyfriend of the boy's sister, according to the incident report.

The boy told deputies Tate wanted him to walk to an old bus in the woods, so he did, according to the report. When they arrived at the bus, Tate wanted him to get on the bus, but he didn't want to. Tate put his hand in his pants, according to the report.

According to the report, Tate stuck his hand inside the boys underwear. He is being held at the Charles B. Webster Detention Center.
