N.A. Chamber hosts legislative breakfast

The North Augusta Chamber of Commerce’s Good Morning North Augusta Breakfast on Aug. 27 will focus on legislative issues of importance to the business community.

This event will feature state representatives providing an update on the most recent legislative session, including State Rep. Bill Hixon, District 83; Sen. Shane Massey, District 25; and Sen. Tom Young, District 24.

The breakfast will be held at the North Augusta Municipal Building, Palmetto Terrace Ballroom, at 7:30 a.m. Advanced registration is required at NorthAugustaChamber.org; $20 for chamber members and $25 for visitors. SNRS head to speak at CTNA breakfast

Stuart MacVean, president and CEO of Savannah River Nuclear Solutions, will be the featured speaker at the Citizens for Nuclear Technology Awareness' Up & Atom breakfast on Aug. 28.

The meeting, at 7:30 a.m. at Aiken. S.C.'s Newberry Hall, 1204 Whiskey Road, Suite B, will speak on the topic of "SRNS: Leaning Forward." SRNS is the contract operator for the Department of Energy's Savannah River Site.

City hosts business Q&A session Aug. 29

The city of Augusta's Compliance Department will host a Local Small Business Opportunity Program Q&A on Aug. 29 from 6-8 p.m. at the Municipal Building.

The meeting, in the Linda Beazley Community Room on the building's first floor at 535 Telfair St., will feature a question-and-answer session with city Compliance Director Treza Edwards and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Coordinator Yolanda Jackson.

Meet.Mingle.Mesh. scheduled Aug. 27

The Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce and the Crowne Plaza North Augusta hotel will host Meet.Mingle.Mesh at the hotels' rooftop bar on Aug. 27.

The networking event, from 5-7 p.m., will be in the hotel's Jackson's Bluff lounge at 1060 Center St., North Augusta.

State of the Community Address Sept. 12

The Columbia County Chamber of Commerce has scheduled its annual State of the Community Address and business expo Sept. 12 at the Columbia County Exhibition Center.

Presentations are expected from representatives of the county's commission and board of education as well as the city of Harlem and Fort Gordon.
