“Everybody in the room” – except the public – is getting to be old hat for the Augusta Commission. To think of the current group on the Augusta Commission using our tax money to cut multi-million dollar deals with commercial developers and investors scares the hell out of this reader.

The mayor & commissioners knew what the job was & what the pay was when they ran for office. If they don’t like it - resign. I don’t know anyone who spends $500.00/month on car maintenance. Commissioners need to designate one vehicle for city use & keep accurate records of mileage (beginning/final odometer readings & purpose) & get reimbursed national rate for mileage.

I'm 67 years young and I thought I would never see the day that socialism was pushed as a way to run our government here in America Wake up people and read your history books...…. Socialism does not work. The problem with Socialism is that you run out of other people's assets.

The attitude & arrogance expressed in Gen. Sherman's reply to your editor in 1888 is the reason so many descendants of Confederate veterans (estimated at more than 70 million Americans) continue to hold him in special contempt. Among those 70 million are some of our most famous citizens and many whose service to our nation is more noteworthy than Sherman's total destruction policies that are remembered in Georgia to this day.
