CHEERLEADING

City of Savannah, Parks and Recreation Department, 2019 Summer Cheerleading Sports Camp: For children ages 5-15. Session 3 is June 17-20, and Session 4 (Georgia Games) is June 24-27. Sessions are held at the Alee Temple Arena from 9 a.m. to noon, Monday through Thursday. The cost for Session 3 is $45 per child for city residents, $50 for non-residents. The cost for Session 4 is $50 per child for city residents, $55 for non-residents. Lunches are provided. Parents can register children at the door. Doors open at 8:45 a.m. each Monday. FLH 300 Club Inc.'s annual golf tournament: June 29, Henderson Golf Club, 9 a.m. shotgun start. Cost: $75 per person, includes range balls and lunch. Format: four-person captain's choice. Haig Point Foundation's inaugural Charity Golf Tournament: July 1, Daufuskie Island, S.C.: Event supports environmental preservation and community enhancement on Daufuskie Island. Format: Five-person scramble with four players assigned to one golf professional. Sign up for team or individual. Georgia Amateur Golf Promotions Players Club: GAGP is open to male golfers 21 and older. This is an alternative to being affiliated with one club. There are 125 clubs being organized with 125 play dates over 125 courses within five regions in Georgia. No initiation fees, monthly dues, food and beverage charges, or year-end assessment. Formats are flighted based on age and handicap: Men 21-49, Mid Seniors 50-59, Seniors 60-69, Super Seniors 70-up. PLOGGING

Savannah Plogging -- Keep Savannah Beautiful: June 22, 8 a.m. Material pickup, along with light refreshments, begins at 7:30 a.m. in front of Wild Wing Cafe at City Market. The Savannah Downtown Business Association is partnering with several local organizations for this unique litter pick-up day. Plogging by definition is combining running and picking up litter. The SDBA will have trash bags, gloves and grabbers. Each person or team can select the area they would like to cover. The city of Savannah's sanitation department will pick up all of the special orange trash bags following the event. Prizes for participants who submit photos of their orange bags on Facebook. The Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation honors the legacy of FDNY firefighter Sephen Siller, who gave his life in the line of duty on 9/11.
