1 person injured in south Phoenix shooting

A person was injured in a shooting Saturday night in south Phoenix, officials said.

Police officers responded to the shooting at 7:20 p.m. in the area of Third and Southern avenues, according to police.

One person was injured, and the injury is non-life-threatening, said Sgt. James Rothschild, a spokesman for the Phoenix Police Department.

There is no suspect in custody, Rothschild said.

Details about how the shooting occurred were not immediately available. The investigation is ongoing.
