Serious crash shuts down Thomas Road in east Phoenix

The accident happened near 28th Street and Thomas Road on April 23, 2019.

Multiple police officers were on the scene of a "serious collision" in east Phoenix Tuesday evening, police said.

The crash happened near 27th Street and Thomas Road, Phoenix police spokesman Sgt. Tommy Thompson said.

A full-size white van with a smashed-in hood and radiator was parked in the center lane of Thomas Road as of about 9:30 p.m. Debris and accident investigation markers were placed in the lane in front of the van.

Traffic was closed in both directions from 27th to 28th streets on Thomas Road.
