American Airlines has announced 18 new domestic and international routes including a new nonstop flight from Phoenix to Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina. The new routes will start just in time for the summer travel season.

The Phoenix to Raleigh-Durham flight begins May 3 and will provide daily, year-round service on an Airbus A320 plane. It is the 22nd new route American has added from Phoenix since its merger with U.S. Airways in 2013.

Curtis Blessing, a spokesman for American Airlines, said the route demonstrates the growth of Phoenix as a destination market as well as “the continued growth of the hub in Phoenix and the role it plays in American’s global network.”

Along with the Phoenix-Raleigh route, the airline is also increasing its summer service between Dallas-Fort Worth and Paris and Madrid. Those European cities are popular summer destinations.

All of the new routes will be available for booking starting Monday, Dec. 17.
