Vale of Glamorgan football league round up

The Barry Cup took centre stage as we reached the quarter finals and the final four was decided. Cogan Coronation claimed their second Premier Division scalp in the competition as they upset Rhoose away 2-1. Cowbridge Town’s league form continued into the cup with a 2-1 win over Cardiff Airport, while Penarth Town edged out first division Cadoxton Imps 4-3.

Cadoxton Barry won out in a Cadoxton derby to put out division two Cadoxton Athletic.

Only three league games played on the weekend, in the Premier Division Sully Sports lifted themselves off the foot of the table as they stunned league leaders Barry Athletic in a thrilling 4-3 away win. Two wins on the bounce for Sully while Athletic wobble at the top with this being a second straight league defeat.

In division one run away leaders Holton Road thrashed Tynewydd 7-1, that’s eleven wins from eleven and 14 points ahead of second place.

While in division two Rhoose B closed the gap on leaders St Athan B to two points with a 1-0 win over Barry Athletic B and have a game in hand.

Next week the SWFA Cup takes centre stage with Barry Athletic, Rhoose and Island Marine all in action along with a handful of league games.
