Michigan State Spartans guard Cassius Winston (5) talks to Michigan State Spartans head coach Tom Izzo during the second half against the Texas Tech Red Raiders in the semifinals of the 2019 men's Final Four

It will be two league champs going to head-to-head - although one has a little bit higher profile than the other.

Michigan State will play Albion College in an Oct. 29 exhibition men's basketball game at the Breslin Center next season.

MSU finished last year as the Big Ten champs and advanced to the Final Four.

Albion College was the 2019 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association tourney champs.

"We have the utmost respect for head coach Tom Izzo and the Michigan State basketball program," Albion head coach Jody May said. "We are excited for the opportunity to take the floor against one of the top college basketball teams in the country."

In addition to giving Albion a meaningful tune-up prior to its Nov. 8 opener at Mount Union, the exhibition provides an opportunity for Albion guards Zachary and Khy Winston to compete against their older brother Cassius, a consensus All-American and the Big Ten Player of the Year for Michigan State in 2019.

"This will be a memorable experience for the players, staff and community of Albion College, as well as the Winston family," May added. "The opportunity for Cassius, Zach, and Khy to be on the floor together will be an amazing occasion for their family. We appreciate the opportunity provided by coach Izzo and Michigan State University."

MSU and Albion have met 11 times in regular-season play, and the Spartans have won all but one. Albion prevailed 37-31 on Jan. 12, 1927, in East Lansing.

The most recent meeting was in 1945.
